It is with saddened hearts that we wish to announce the peaceful passing of Minnie Dube on March 22 at Moose Mountain Lodge, Carlyle, SK. She was born to William and Agnes Rutten in the Wordsworth area on January 21, 1921.

Predeceased by brothers Henry and Joseph Rutten, beloved husband of over 65 years Kenneth (Joe) Dube, and son Carl, she is survived by her loving family of three: Lorraine Pletch, Loretta Korven and Kenneth Dube, their spouses, nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Minnie was an active volunteer and member of the Carlyle community where she lived most of her 92 years. Minnie was a gifted artist and leaves behind an impressive collection of treasured paintings, needlepoint and afghans.

Her ability to create beauty was perhaps most evident in her gardens, both in town and at the lake, which under her care were always vibrant with colourful blooms. Nurturing her plants was a favorite past time and a great source of pride and joy. Minnie and Joe's home was always a popular place for family and friends to gather for tea and home made treats. They enjoyed many evenings dancing and socializing at nearby Kenosee Barn and other local dance halls. Minnie will always be remembered for her grace, warmth and gift for quietly brightening the world with her loving kindness. Through action more than words, she taught us much about gratitude and generosity towards others. We smile to imagine Minnie reunited with her beloved Joe, dancing together again. We are blessed to have known them both.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 27th, 1:00 pm at the R.C. Church of our Lady in Carlyle.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Moose Mountain Lodge, and Coteau Place, in Arcola, where Minnie spent her final years. We are so thankful for the loving care she received during this time in her life. Family asks for flowers to be planted or donations made to the Church of our Lady in Carlyle to honour her memory.
