It is with sadness that the family of Norman Truman announces his passing on June 9, 2013 at the age of 87. He is predeceased by his parents Sam and Minnie; brothers Cecil (Alice), George, Alan; sister Muriel (Floyd) Dicken; first wife Phyllis McKinnon and second wife Margeurite Ward. Norman will be lovingly remembered by daughters Brenda (David) Lajeunesse, Debra Stevens (Gordon Priest) and Gale (Jeff) Barnes; grandchildren Paul (Lisa), David (Kristi), Wade (Krista), Kevin (Amanda), Janelle (Stephen), Adam (Lettie), Amanda and Jennifer (Darren); great grandchildren Johnathon, Joel, Grady, Reid, Kipp, Paxton, Lane and Rose; sisters-in-law Kay Truman and Murial Truman. Norman was a teacher and principal until he retired in 1977.

He started his teaching career in various country schools before he accepted a position in Heward, SK in 1950. Here he met and married Phyllis McKinnon and they began raising their family. In 1957, he took a teaching position in Wawota for 9 years, and then served as principal in Eatonia School from 1966 - 1977. He was a passionate Old Time Fiddler and a devoted Yankee and Maple Leafs fan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norman's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (279 - 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8). A Celebration of Norman's Life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St., first right past Briargate Rd.).
