ESTEVAN - The Estevan Downtown Business Association has announced the return of its marquee event, Street Dance, on July 20.
The 2024 edition of Street Dance features headliner Lisa Moen and will be hosted in the parking lot of Affinity Place.
Named the Saskatchewan Country Music Association’s 2019 Country Music Person of the Year, Moen has entertained crowds at some of Saskatchewan’s biggest events, including the Saskatchewan Rush halftime show and Country Thunder Saskatchewan, and she has opened for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and The Eagles concert tailgate party.
"We play a full roster of country music and rock and roll," said Moen on what crowds can expect. "My bandmates have been with me for more than 10 years we love being able to have fun onstage and get the crowd pumped up."
The event has traditionally been held in the 1100-block of Fourth Street, but with construction for the downtown revitalization project expected to be underway, the event will be moving for one year to the parking lot at Affinity Place.
"We’re very thankful for the City of Estevan’s support in helping us find a new venue for this year, as our normal location on Fourth Street won’t be accessible to us," said Robert Godfrey, one of the organizers for the event. "When the City offered the parking lot at Affinity Place, we thought it would be a perfect fit, with lots of space and easy accessibility for everyone."
Estevan city council approved having the event at the parking lot during Monday night's meeting.
Advanced tickets for the event will be sold at Henders Drugs starting April 15 for $30. Tickets will also be available at the gate for $40.
