The boards of education of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division and the South East Cornerstone Public School Division have approved 2024-2025 school year calendar.
Boards of education approved option 1 for the school-year calendar for 2024-25 as presented. It is now subject to approval by the Ministry of Education in terms of compliance with the Education Act regulations.
In keeping with legislative and regulatory amendments, calendars must ensure that a minimum of 950 hours of instructional time is provided to all students. These legislative and regulatory amendments were implemented to ensure that there is a consistent minimum amount of instruction time.
The 2024-25 school year will start on Sept. 3. The last day of classes before the Christmas break will be Dec. 20 and the first day back will be Jan. 6, 2025. Winter break will run from Feb. 17-21, and spring break will be from April 21-25, after Good Friday on April 18.
The last day of classes will be June 26.
