Video: The Empress steam engine rolled through the southeast

The Empress has been travelling throughout North America, with its journey starting in Calgary on April 24. It will wrap up in Mexico City in May. 

SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - Southeast Saskatchewan residents were treated to a blast from the past on Monday, as the 2816 Steam Train, known as the Empress, rolled through the region as part of the Final Spike Steam Tour. 

While the train didn't stop in Estevan, it still drew a lot of people who wanted to view this link to the past as it rumbled through the area.

The Empress has been travelling throughout North America, with its journey starting in Calgary on April 24. It will wrap up in Mexico City in May. 

There have been public events in some communities, including Moose Jaw and Minot.
