ALIDA - Shelly Cowan has her fundraising hat back on once again. She received many donated pumpkins for the haunted house and now something must be done with them. The thought process of making pumpkin pies to sell is in the works. So keep your eyes open for more details as to when, where and how one can purchase a pie (or more), and of course the cost.

One may be asked to pre-order the number of pies you wish to purchase by giving Shelly a call. I can almost taste those pies.

On Nov. 8, Micheal Lemieux and boys Carter and Mason arrived from Lloydminster to spend a week of holidays with Ernest and Dianne Lemieux.

The boys were on a school break and Michael had days off work. They celebrated an early Christmas on Nov. 11, when other family members – Alan and Kathy Arthur, and Lloyd and Irene Sorensen joined everyone for supper. They then returned home on Nov. 12.

Faye Walker travelled to Saskatoon Nov. 9 for a dental appointment and visited with her family Deidre, Jeff Nickel and granddaughters returning home to Alida on the 15th.

The Alida community extends condolences to the Martin family and friends on the death of Robert Martin (late of Carlyle) on Nov. 7 at the age of 56 years. Robert will be remembered by his wife Dianna and their children, his mother Zoe Martin, brothers George (Shelly), Raymond and sister Viviane Perreaux, in-laws (mother) Loretta Carriere, (brother) Gary (Marcy) Hill, (sister) Lana Green as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life was held at the Redvers Curling Rink Nov. 13 with refreshment and reminiscing following the service.
