Glentworth Curling Club held a funspiel on Dec. 30 to celebrate Provincial Curling Day in Saskatchewan along with the 10 year anniversary in the new rink. In spite of the cold weather, four teams of three people participated in the four-end games.They all seemed to enjoy the matches.
Community events
Mankota and Community Christmas Celebration was held on Dec. 9 at the Agricultural Hall. The evening started with cocktails followed by a banquet catered by Splitter’s Bar and Grill. Music for the dance was provided by Navajo. The evening also featured a penny raffle. Thanks to the Mankota Lions Club for organizing the event.
Glentworth Senior Hockey team held a cabaret at the Community Hall on Dec. 23. There was a good crowd in attendance.
Social Notes
Chuck and Colleen Roy and Eric and Thea Roy of Carstairs spent ten days in the Hawaiian Islands. They were at the big island of Hawaii before flying to Maui and Kaui. They had a most interesting tour of a coffee plantation.
Guests with MIlton and Kathy Peterson included son Landon of Stettler, sons Calder and Logan of Glendive, Montana and Peggy Gretter of Warman.
Elizabeth and Josh Jenkins of Toronto spent the holidays with Tom and Franki Jenkins and Pete and Jill Jenkins and boys.
Charlene Orr spent her holidays in Saskatoon with daughter Cathi and boys. They were joined by Carolyn and Denis of Edmonton and Charles and Michelle of Calgary.
Wilfred and Beatrice Leduc and Wadena Lasko were in Lethbridge to spend Christmas with Travis and Francine and family.
Family joining Rod and Marge Clark, Lianna, Larryssa and girls were Jonathon Clark of Saskatoon and Jessica and Jarodd Fehr of Warman.
Holiday visitors with Robert and Loretta Eastley were Brian and Teresa and family of Regina, Linda and Randy Kutschall and family of Shaunavon, Janice and Collin Seebach and family and Justin of Saskatoon and John and Marion Lake of Regina. Christmas guests with Roy and Ruby Sayers and Trent and Christina Sayers and family included Brendon and Gretta Sayers of Forest, Man., Andrea and Gord McNally and family of Bethune and Payton Sayers who attends university in Calgary.
Lee and Nancy Anthony and family and Trent and Christina Sayers and family enjoyed a vcation in Cancun over the holidays.
