It was announced in May that staffing in the SECPSD was to be reduced by a total of 35.26 full-time equivalent positions, including cutting 23.8 FTE teachers, for the next school year due to insufficient funding from the provincial government. The government would later provide more money to the school division, so most of the job cuts were reversed.
