The Assiniboia and District Public Library started its annual Christmas Silent Auction on November 3 with dozens of items up for bidding. The public is welcome to come to the library to place a bid on any items and the bidding closes at 4 p.m. on December 9. The library held its successful Fall Used Book Sale on November 3-4. Donations of books were received from the community that went to the sale. The book bags were donated by the Southland Co-op. The silent auction and the annual book sale are regular fundraisers for the library to support its collection and programming. The library plans to hold a Cookbook Potluck on the evening of December 8. The event is open for all to attend. Participants are asked to make a dish to share using any recipe from the province-wide library system, except turkey, and to bring along the recipe.
