Many people came out for last year's Boogie Fest, which included interesting and fun bike games. This year organizers hope to attract even more people for the exciting event.

The Carlyle and District Leisure Board, commonly referred to as the Pool Board, has been hard at work organizing the 11th Annual Boogie Fest and hope to see everyone there again this year; so, mark your calendars for June 21 and June 22.

The event will be held at the Pavilion in Carlyle Lions Park.

Friday June 21 will see a free lunch held by Moose Mountain Mud and Equal Transport on Main Street. Here there will be a final ticket blitz, with the grand prize being the Harley Davidson raffled off every year.

"There will be a new bike this year, a 2013 Harley Davidson Softail Slim, which will be out on display at different stores." Trevor Dalziel, Pool Board member, stated.

The bike is being sponsored and supplied by Harley Davidson Yorkton, which has been a part of Boogie Fest for the past seven years.

Friday will also see Cornerstone Family and Youth host children's games, face painting, and bouncers beginning at 5:30 p.m. They will also have a concession open if anyone becomes hungry.

Friday night will see a live band play at The Office Bar and Grill.

The next day will see a free pancake breakfast held between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. at Lions Park, which is being sponsored by Crescent Point Energy.

There will be a poker derby held between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

A senior ball tournament will run throughout the day at the ball diamonds within Lions Park.

There will also be bike games including a burnout contest that is being sponsored by Spearing Services.

This will be followed by supper, at an extra cost to the entrance fee that will be prepared by the Knights of Columbus at 5 p.m.

Once darkness arrives Saturday night the fireworks will be set off that the Town of Carlyle are sponsoring.

Chris Henderson has been lined up to provide music for Saturday night, while the Fire Department will be providing a midnight luncheon between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m.

"Last year there was 140 people and this year we're hoping for more," Dalziel explained.

Again there will be t-shirts and other merchandise available throughout the town and everyone involved is excited for the 11th Annual Boogie Fest to come to fruition.

Though the Pool Board consists of approximately 12 members they have found many people in the community willing to volunteer and help during the weekend, which has been one of the reasons why they have been successful in the past.

Though Boogie Fest is still, basically, three months away the Pool Board is very excited and hope to see as many people out as possible, which is why they want to make people aware of when it is happening.

More detailed information will be out soon and Dalziel encourages people to look for posters around town and the surrounding communities as they will be put up soon.
