If you are a Saskatchewan artist or artisan, not supported solely by the sale of your work, you are eligible to enter your works in "Art Reach", the Weyburn and area Local Art Adjudication.

The Weyburn Arts Council will be holding their annual Local Adjudication on Friday, April 27. Professional artist and adjudicator, Gerri Ann Siwek, has been hired to meet with artists and artisans and provide them with a critique of their works.

Artists and artisans from Weyburn and surrounding areas are encouraged to submit their works of art which will also be placed on show from March 14 to April 27 at the Signal Hill Arts Centre Gallery, as part of the adjudication process.

Artists chosen at the local level will be invited to submit an exhibition proposal to the OSAC jury in June 2012. This jury will choose a number of artists/artisans to have their work tour the province with OSAC's "Arts On The Move" program.

The extended deadline for entry is Friday, March 9, allowing for the six-week exhibition prior to the adjudication.

Two "hands-on" workshops, appropriate to artists of any medium, are also offered to both artists and the public:

On Saturday, April 28, the workshop is entitled, "The Creative Process", and it will runfrom 9:30 to 4:30 p.m. The suggested donation for the workshop is $25; the instructor is Geri Ann Siwek.

The second workshop is on Sunday, Apr. 29, entitled, "Pricing your art work". It was run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. This is a free CARFAC Workshop with instructor Patrick Close.

To register, to obtain more information, or to have an entry form mailed to you, call the Weyburn Arts Council office or e-mail weyburnartscouncil@live.ca. Forms and info are also available from www.weyburnartscouncil.ca.

It is the Weyburn Arts Council's pleasure to participate in the celebration, development, and support of your creative activity.
