Good times with Good Sam

The Crocus City Sams Chapter of the Good Sam Club recently met to elect officers for the upcoming year. Elected chapter presidents was Gerry and Erna Murray, succeeding current presidents Bea and Larry Ortman.

The Crocus City Sams Chapter of the Good Sam Club recently met to elect officers for the upcoming year. Elected chapter presidents was Gerry and Erna Murray, succeeding current presidents Bea and Larry Ortman.

"Good Sam is a great organization and we have fun travelling together," said Gerry Murray.

The Good Sam Club is the largest RV owners club in the world with nearly 1 million member families. The local chapter has all types of trailers and motor homes and includes members from Weyburn, Stoughton and Heward. The club is always looking for couples who like to RV and invite anyone interested to attend their meetings.

Supper meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the Legion Hall and coffee meetings are held on the third Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Pappa Jack's. For more information please contact the chapter president, Gerry and Erna Murray at 842-7719.

Plans are underway for the upcoming Provincial Samboree, to be held in Weyburn on June 6 to 10, 2012 at the Fairgrounds. More than 250 RVs from Canada and the USA are expected to attend.

The local chapter is still collecting tabs from pop and beer cans to purchase wheelchairs for Hospitals in Saskatchewan. Plans in 2012 include travelling to Moose Jaw, Oungre, Watrous, Nickle Lake and Weyburn Samboree.
