The annual Gravelbourg Coffee House will be entertaining audiences on Saturday November 4 and Sunday, November 5 at The Renaissance Gaiety Theatre in Gravelbourg. This year’s line up is called “A Night in The Spotlight”. The community is invited to an evening of “toe tapping” entertainment. The lively two performances feature local and regional talent that will entertain the whole family. Shows run at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The Coffee House has been an annual event for some years. It takes place at the Renaissance Gaiety Theatre, a 1926 heritage building in Gravelbourg. The Coffee House is under the direction of producer Chad Firth, music director Chad Tremblett and writer-director Boyd Firth.

The Coffee House has grown to include regional as well as local talent. In this expanded direction, it now offers performers the opportunity to be recorded and filmed by Access TV, to mentor with seasoned musicians, and to play on stage before an audience.

The directors of the Coffee House encourage repeat performers, but they are always searching for those who have not performed live or played with the Coffee House previously. While the annual Coffee House does centre around musicians, this event is not limited to musical talent. The event encompasses all forms of entertainment from comedy to cowboy poetry. For the producers of this production, the excitement is in witnessing the blend of old and young, seasoned and novice stepping up and sharing their talents before a full house.

Admission to the show is $5 per person and children under five years old can attend for free. All proceeds have been targeted towards purchasing and repairing more sound and light equipment for the theatre. Donations for the theatre equipment will also be accepted. The musicians will be performing for free and the building rental equipment is being donated. The Coffee House promotion is being sponsored by Trailtech.
