On March 2, the Moose Mountain Lions hosted their 3rd annual Winter Carnival. Approximately 100 people enjoyed the pancake breakfast that morning, which ran from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Here they not only raised money for the Lions club, but also for diabetes.

The rest of the day was filled with fun outside activities including snow shoeing, skating, cross country skiing, a snowmobile derby, and a small hockey tournament.

Between the cross country skiing and the snowmobile derby 247 poker hands were purchased. Though many from surrounding communities attended it was a pleasant surprise for the Lions to welcome two buses of people with the Regina Ski Club who were out to attend the event.

Many youth enjoyed their time skating on Little Kenosee, while next to them in another cleared off rink the pond hockey tournament was underway. Four teams participated in the three on three tournament. Since, the day was so beautiful the ice actually began to melt slightly by late afternoon and the hockey final couldn't be finished. Everyone who participated had fun, however, and that was the main point of the day.

The group sold out of hamburgers and smokies which were being sold at Little Kenosee. They also had food for snowmobilers out at Bennet Shack.

Following all of the events during the day wrapping up there were 60 people who attended the supper that evening. After the meal was enjoyed there was a cabaret held, which was well attended with "The Moose Mountain DareDevils" drawing in the crowd.

Overall the day raised approximately $6,500 for the Moose Mountain Lions, which they will in turn be putting back into the community.
