The Tommy Douglas Performing Arts Centre will begin its sixth annual Youth Development Summer Theatre program July 2 at the Tommy Douglas Centre, 400 Tenth Avenue South in Weyburn.

Participants will learn Theatre Etiquette, Acting Technique, Movement, Singing, Costuming, Stage Properties, Set Construction, Lighting and Sound.

Youth of all ages can learn Professional Theatre School style training while participating in rehearsals for a live mainstage theatre production which will be performed during the Weyburn Wheat Festival weekend celebrations August 8 to 12, 2012.

There will be morning and evening programming. The morning youth program runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The evening program, for young and older adults, runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

The morning youth program cost is $120 per participant and $210 per family of three. Adult tuition is through ticket sales.
