Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Report

With three and a half tables playing on January 2, Jim Brown and Jean Knibbs started off the year with a strong game finishing first. Gord Bell and Barry Mactaggart placed second and Andy Goeres and George Gilles were third.

On January 4, with four and a half tables, Jim Brown and George Gilles took top honours, followed by Jim and Hazel Benison in second and Barry Mactaggart and Quint Patrick placing third.

With four tables playing on January 9, Diane and Gord Bell had an excellent finish playing at over 73 percent, Roy Wallin and John Whitell finished second and Keith Eichel and Millie Nimegeers came third.

January 11 had three and a half tables and Quint Patrick and Andy Dumba took first place, Keith Eichel and Doyle Thomas placed second and there was a tie for third between Jim Brown and George Gilles and Barry Mactaggart and Lucie Nickel.

Five tables played on January 16 and Diane Bell and Bernie Collins finished first, Andy Goeres and George Gilles placed second, Anne Balzer and Marion Brown were third and Roy Wallin and John Whitell were fourth.

With three tables playing on January 18, Erskine Sandiford and Andy Dumba finished in first place and Lucie Nickel and Keith Eichel were second.

On January 23, there were four and a half tables and taking first place were Erskine and Mildred Sandiford, followed by George Gilles and Andy Goeres in second and Gord Bell and Marg Stewart in third.

When two and a half tables played on January 25, Lucie Nickel and Keith Eichel placed first and Chuck Widdis and John Whitell finished second.

The final game of January had four and a half tables playing on January 30 and taking first place were Andy Goeres and George Gilles, tying for second were Millie Nimegeers and Keith Eichel and Marg Stewart and Andy Dumba, and placing fourth were Gord Bell and Rick Wanner.

Bridge players are welcome to come and play duplicate bridge on Monday and Wednesday evenings starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Wheatland Senior Centre.
