The Southern Plains Co-op presented a pair of cheques on Friday at their grocery store in Estevan.
The first was for $10,000 to the organizing committee of the 2018 SaskTel Tankard men’s provincial curling tournament that will be held in Estevan next February. The co-op is the first community organization to step forward as sponsors for the event.
The co-op will support the volunteer portion of the event, so volunteers will be wearing red shirts in honour of the co-op.
The other donation was for $4,252 to the local Habitat for Humanity committee. The co-op donated 10 cents from the sale of every litre of fuel at their two service stations in Estevan on June 16.
