The CP Rail Holiday Train visited Estevan on Friday afternoon, attracting a large crowd excited to see the decorated rail cars and the many musicians.

The train that came to Estevan was the U.S. version of the train, and it crossed into Canada earlier on Friday at North Portal.

Country music stars Dallas Smith and Terri Clark were the entertainment. Musicians Kelly Prescott, Darren Savard, Ken Post and Richard Levesque accompanied the two singers.

“We have been coming here every year before I worked with the Salvation Army at the thrift store,” said Rhonda Olsen who is the supervisor at the thrift store. “I just enjoy coming out here and seeing the sense of community and seeing everyone come together and enjoy an afternoon.”

The Holiday Train supports food banks in the communities it visits, and the local Salvation Army received a large amount of food donations for its food bank.

Mayor Roy Ludwig was in attendance and he got to spend sometime on the Holiday Train. While on stage he wished everyone a Merry Christmas.
