With temperatures in the low to mid-30s in southern Saskatchewan, warnings of severe thunderstorms went out. All of the moisture evaporating out of the ground by the hot sun over several days prior to this was returned to the earth with the rain that accompanied the storm as it moved through Weyburn and area. The storm brought 2.8 mm of rain to the city overnight, to bring the total for July so far to 5.4 mm — a far cry from the heavy rainfall of June, when the total reached 166.5 mm on the month, including the major deluge mid-month which caused flooding throughout the area.
