If you happened to notice a large group of teenagers running around town in last Wednesday's thunder and lightning storm, you weren't going crazy.

Fun Night was held June 13 at 5:30 p.m. and included an Amazing Race around town and pizza dinner. The event was organized by the grade 10 students along with Mrs. Rutten and welcomed several grade 6 students from the elementary school.

Before sending the groups out on the race timers were set and cell phone numbers were exchanged in case a team got lost.

The teens were given their first clue at the high school, each team three minutes apart as to not create followers. "Here's a place you can make a splash, but make it quick you'll have to dash!" read the first paper handed to participants.

From there, students made their way to the first stop at the pool, followed by stops at the rink, RCMP station, library, Memorial Hall and Centennial Park. At each destination the clues were either hidden, or a person awaited them with a challenge before handing over the brain scrambling clues.

As the runners re-entered the high school, they were greeted by enough pizza and pop to feed an elephant. Teams chatted amongst themselves, alongside the wonderful entertainment of Rutten's young daughter drawing away and creating exquisite art for all to see.

The teams with the top three race times each received 10 dollar Dairy Queen giftcards as well as movie passes for the drive-in, which all were generously donated.

All in all everyone had a great time, and no one's mood was dampened by the weather, that was only their clothes!
