If you're in the Ogema area this weekend and looking for something to do, head on down to the Ogema Fair on Saturday, July, 9, and Museum Day on Sunday, July 10. Both of these events will carry a $5 price tag, and provide a full day of fun that the whole family can enjoy.

The fair will start off at 7 a.m. on Saturday with a pancake breakfast in CPR Park, just south of the bar. The horse show will start up at 8 a.m. at the fair grounds. From there the annual parade will be taking place at 10 a.m. on Main Street. At 2 p.m. there will be a horse pull taking place down at the fair grounds. The fair will come to a close with a cabaret at the fair grounds. The cabaret will start at 8:30 p.m. and last until about 2 a.m. A DJ will be providing music, so be sure to bring your dancing shoes.

Through out the day there will be various exhibits on display in the skating rink. These exhibits will include a variety of home products like knitting and canned foods. Beer gardens will open at 2 p.m. and remain open for the duration of the fair. Slow pitch and fast ball games will also be taking place throughout the course on the day at the ball diamonds.

For Museum Day, the grounds will be open at 8 a.m. on Sunday and a pancake breakfast will be taking place from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Following the pancake breakfast there will be an interdenominational church service at 10 a.m. The buildings and exhibits will be open after the church service at 11 a.m. Musicians will also begin to play old time music at this time. At 3 p.m. there will be a parade of old-time machines and vehicles, followed by a threshing demonstration. Beer gardens will be open from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tea and biscuits will also be served in the old cafe.

Throughout the day various demonstrations of old-time machines will be taking place in and around the museum's 32 buildings. These buildings include a school house, church, general store, blacksmith, rural municipality office, barber shop, and old homes.
