Another lucky Weyburn resident has won big with Saskatchewan Lotteries.
Shirley Andrews won $250,000 after taking a suggestion from a retailer. Andrews purchased one $11 Millionaire Life ticket with Extra "entered" after a retailer at Pharmasave told her about the game.
More than a month later, Andrews finally checked her ticket.
"The ticket was from March so I almost threw it in the garbage. Then, on a second thought, I took it to the store to have it checked," Andrews explained.
She had exactly matched the seven numbers drawn on Extra in the March 31 draw.
"They said I just leaned on the counter when I saw how much I won," she laughed. "At first I thought it was $250 then the cashier told me to look again and I saw it was actually $250,000!"
Andrews said she plans to share the windfall with her family.
