Saturday, Nov. 3 saw people from across the area flock to Fairlight to take in a day of excitement. A holiday craft sale, the 12th annual event, took place at the Fairlight Community Hall, soup and sandwich luncheon was on at the Drop In Centre, and Home Sweet Home held their annual Christmas Open House.

The craft show was headed by Shirley Campbell and Brenda Thompson, but was truly a community effort. The Community Hall saw 33 vendors attend, which was the maximum capacity for the hall. People selling jewelry, candles, purses, toques, honey, knitting, and more were present. Avon, Mary K, and Steeped Tea vendors were also present displaying their items.

Steeped Tea vendor, Louise Bird of Wawota, was excited for the opportunity to share her products with those who attended the event. She is a tea consultant for Steeped Tea, which was featured on the Dragon's Den earlier this year. Currently she is holding a fundraiser for the Lymphedema Association of Saskatchewan to which she is a board member.

The craft show saw a steady flow of people coming and going throughout the day. Open from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. many attended despite the winter road conditions.

Also held on this day was a soup and sandwich luncheon at the Drop In Centre between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Many volunteers helped to feed and serve those who attended. The food was delicious and people enjoyed time to visit over a cup of coffee or tea.

Finally people wandered over to Home Sweet Home, a business owned by Brenda and Robin Thompson. They have had their business for 20 years this month and have enjoyed a Christmas Open House each year to introduce new stock and offer great deals on products.

They welcomed many to their store with tea and dainties available to enjoy. Offering everything from Christmas decorations to cheese ball mixes to jewelry to kitchen supplies. Their open house lasted for the day. The great deals were available on Sunday as well, though they are happy to greet anyone looking for something unique any day except Monday as that is their day off.

The weekend was enjoyed by all who were able to attend, many finding a neat treasure to go home with.
