A blizzard hit Weyburn and area on March 11. Travel was not recommended on nearly all of the highways in the southeast for most of the afternoon.
The Town of Midale declared a state of emergency after a multi-vehiclepile-upjust west of the town closed Highway 39between Estevan and Weyburn. Approximately 80 people were forced to spend the night in Midale's Harry O Memorial Arena because of the crash.There was also a collision on Highway 18 between Oungre and Lake Alma.
