Mayor Debra Button announced on June 29 that the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for the city of Weyburn. Weyburn residents had been advised to boil all drinking water since the city's water and sewage systems failed on June 17 due to unprecedented flooding. Although the city is now in full recovery mode, the advisory had remained in place while the Ministry conducted extensive testing to ensure that health risks had been completely eliminated.Button said that the sewage lift station should be running at normal capacity by the end of this week.

She pointed out that the lifting of the advisory applies only to the city of Weyburn itself. The village of McTaggart, the Weyburn Utility Board, Nickle Lake Regional Park and the hamlet of North Weyburn remain under the advisory until further notice.
