Boogie Fest is nearly here! The 11th annual event is set to take place on June 22 and 23, which will see a flood of motorbikes come to Carlyle. The event has grown from 37 bikes the first year to 137 that came out last year. The two days are filled with big plans and will be a great family event.

Friday, there is a free lunch planned and a ticket blitz for the Harley Davidson that will be raffled off Saturday night. The lunch is sponsored by Moose Mountain Mud and Equal Transport. That evening there will be a hamburger sale and entertainment for kids provided by Cornerstone Family and Youth at the Lions Park. They will be hosting kids' games, face painting, bouncers, and a concession. At 6 p.m. there will be a bike parade for the kids to take in, followed by a magician.

Starting at 9 p.m. on Friday there will be a live band playing at The Office Bar and Grill.

Saturday will begin with a free pancake breakfast sponsored by Crescent Point Energy Corp followed by the Poker Derby from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The riders will travel to Round Lake where they will have lunch, then set out to Whitewood, Kenosee Lake, and finally back to Carlyle.

A senior ball tournament is also set up for June 23.

That evening supper will be cooked by the Knights of Columbus and will cost extra to the $10 day pass.

At 6 p.m. they will be holding bike games, which is sure to be great entertainment. Sometime throughout the weekend a burnout contest will also be held sponsored by Spearing Service. A dance will follow with Chris Henderson, which is sponsored by the Southern Plains Co-op. Latenight food will be provided by some of our local firemen between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m.

The Town of Carlyle has sponsored fireworks that will be set off when it turns dark. The big raffle, a 2002 Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob, will be done at midnight on Saturday.

Boogie Fest t-shirts will be available from King's Department Store.
