A symposium to assist southeast Saskatchewan business owners is coming to Weyburn.

The third annual Saskatchewan Rising Symposium: Tools for Success will be held on October 21. This one-day event, held at McKenna Hall, will feature well-known headliners and cover a wide range of business topics. All sessions aim to provide business tools that can be used to grow a successful business in southeast Saskatchewan.

"When planning the Symposium this year, the business community in the region was surveyed and asked what key issues they wanted more information about. So the entire day has been structured to provide some great tools and information for small business. The line-up of speakers and topics is very impressive, and we hope business owners and managers come out on October 21 to attend the Symposium," said Verna O'Neill of Community Futures (CF) Sunrise, and member of the Symposium Committee.

Kicking off the event, Steve McLellan of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce will speak on key growth strategies. To close the day, Paul Martin of Martin Charlton Communications will answer the question "Is Saskatchewan's Economic Boom Sustainable?" In addition, panel and breakout sessions will feature information on finding and hiring employees, social media, labour standards, workers compensation, and South East Regional College services for business.

The Symposium Committee partners who have organized this event include Can-Sask Career and Employment Services, Community Futures Sunrise, Enterprise Saskatchewan, South East Regional College, Saskatchewan South East Tourism Association and Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.
