Empowerment:

Community Values Youth: A young person needs to feel as if the community values them.

Safety: A young person feels safe at home, school, and in their neighborhood.

Student-led Conferences were this week on Wednesday, April 17th and Thursday, April 18th. Thank you to all parents who took the time out of their busy schedule to come and see everything your child is learning about. Your commitment to your child's education will make a difference in their future. We had fantastic grade 6 students available to babysit during Student-led conferences, thanks to these students who volunteered their time. And, a big thank you to the School Community Council and parent volunteers who provided supper for the staff at Carlyle Elementary School during student-led conferences. It was appreciated!!

There will be no school on Friday, April 19th, 2013.

What's Cookin for the grades 2-3 will be on Monday, April 22nd from 3:15 - 4:30. Thank you to Mrs. Beatty for teaching are kids all about kitchen safety and cooking healthy snack and meals.

The second session of At Home Alone will start Monday, April 22nd for grades 5 & 6. This program will run for 2 Mondays after school, Monday April 22nd & 29th. Students will learn important home safety in this program, so they know what to do if they are home alone.

Track and Field has started for grades 5 & 6. Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays after school with Mrs. Sargent and Mr. Bloomfield, practices will take place at the high school with the high school track team.
