The School Community Council (SCC) Annual General Meeting and the Elementary School's Open House were well attended once again. It was great to see so many interested parents. The new SCC for the 2012 2013 year is: Pam Kresowaty, Danielle Benjamin, PauleÀÛÝe Guider, Roland

Bouchard, Jolyn Schultz, Karen Fischer, Desirae Galbraith, Tracey Rae, Anita Delalleau, Shelley Sargent, Cheryl MacDonald, JusÀÛÝne Stephanson and Krystal Fehrenbach. Thank you to the new members for joining the team! A special thank you to Tammie Riddell, Tanya Robertson, Richelle McAuley and Charlene Chapman who were a key part of our council for the past few years!

Carlyle Elementary School participated in a food drive sponsored by the Farm Credit Corporation (FCC) called "Drive Away Hunger". For two weeks, from October 1st to October 12th, the students brought food items to school with them to be donated to the local food bank. For taking part in the program, the school is also entered into a draw with other schools to win a prize of $500 to be put towards school improvement. The food was collected and weighed by representatives from the FCC, and in total, the kids collected 476 lbs of food.

For Halloween, Wednesday, October 31st, students are welcome to wear orange and black for the day! They can also bring a costume to change into after lunch for the afternoon if they would like! Parents are asked not to send candy for the students to share as teachers will not be handing out non-healthy food items. You are welcome to send a healthy snack, or non-food

item to share. If you have any questions, please call the school at 453-2393. Thank you for your cooperation!
