This past weekend, Carlyle was lucky enough to welcome some very talented musicians to town. With Boogiefest being a hot and happening event, concerts and dances saw a great deal of attention.

The weekend of great tunes began Friday night, when the band Giving In, from Winnipeg provided an energetic kick-off party at The Office.

Giving In is a 4 piece rock band , whose focus is "writing and performing good music that is lyrically progressive," according to their website. The band is currently taking some time to write and build new content, but took some time out of their busy schedule to put smiles on the faces of the many. boogiers of Saskatchewan.

The band's music is a mix of pop and rock, and comes off with a Red Hot Chili Peppers vibe.

To keep the party going on Saturday night, Canadian country star, Chris Henderson hosted the dance. He brought with him a full band, and amazing tunes including some sing along covers.

He was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, where he grew up and then studied at the University of Regina, in the Faculty of Education, where he graduated in 2006.

In that same year Chris entered 620 CKRM radio's Big Country Talent Show competition, which seeks out new Saskatchewan talent. He went on to win the competition, and was awarded the opportunity to record a single with Saskatchewan Band, the Poverty Plainsmen. The single he recorded with the band achieved great success which encouraged him to pursue other recording opportunities.

The Chris Henderson Band formed in March 2007 and is composed of Chris Henderson who is lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Tyler Wanner on lead guitar and backup vocals, Daryl Carver on Bass, Kylee Glover on the keyboard, and Sean Hayward on drums.

His debut album, entitled Follow the Signs, was released across Canada in September 2008.

Chris and his band kept the dancers boogieing until 2 a.m, as new comers to the country scene received a few two-stepping lessons from the experienced ones.
