Centennial homecoming to take place first week in August

Mayor Debra Button signed a proclamation on April 15, stating that August 1 to 5 will be Weyburn's Centennial Homecoming Celebration.

The Weyburn Centennial Committee, along with Coordinator Sharon Elliott, is inviting the community of Weyburn, past and present, to spend their August long weekend in celebration of the Weyburn Centennial Homecoming. A number of exciting events are being organized for the weekend, as the community plans to celebrate the city's 100th birthday.

One particularly exciting event, which Mayor Button revealed during the April 15 press conference, is the Celebration Concert with Dean Brody. The concert will be held at Crescent Point Place on August 3 at 7:30 p.m.

Members of the Centennial Committee gathered at Crescent Point Place to make the announcement.

The Committee consists of representatives from the City of Weyburn, City Council, interested parties and community members. Committee members are Chairperson Isabelle Butters, Mayor Debra Button, Councillor Rob Stephanson, Bob King, Donna Hastings, Cindy Ann Boehm, Danette Tracey, Matthew Warren and Rochelle Wendt.
