Recognizing the need for ongoing support for the Weyburn Humane Society, All Saints Anglican Church will be conducting its first annual Bless the Animals Service on Saturday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend John Gardner will be officiating.

The Weyburn Humane Society performs a vital and often thankless service in rescuing animals that are abandoned or abused and protects the citizens of this city from loose, roaming animals - particularly dogs, which can form packs and become a danger to small children or other pets. Like many other worthwhile non-government agencies, the Humane Society often struggles to meet its mandate because of lack of funding.

Carmen Stephens, the Chair of All Saints Outreach Committee, stated, "My husband and I have acquired two dogs from the Weyburn Humane Society, one of which had been badly abused and neglected as a puppy. We were pleased to be able to offer them a good home and have watched them develop and mature into loving pets. We are therefore very conscious of the need to provide support to the Humane Society, without which these animals would not have had any hope of survival."

All sizes, shapes and kinds of pets are welcome at the service on October 1, provided they are accompanied by their owner(s) or a responsible adult. All offerings from the service will be donated to the Humane Society.
