City cancels advisory to boil water

The City of Weyburn removed a precautionary drinking water advisory today. "All necessary samples have been taken, and have come back with good results," said Bob Smith, city manager. "No positive bacteria were found in any of the samples.



The City of Weyburn removed a precautionary drinking water advisory today.

"All necessary samples have been taken, and have come back with good results," said Bob Smith, city manager. "No positive bacteria were found in any of the samples. In consultation with the Sun Country Health District, we agree no potential health risk currently exists for the Weyburn distribution system, and the advisory previously issued is hereby removed."

The precautionary drinking water advisory was placed on the City of Weyburn on Feb. 9, and lasted until Feb. 17.

"We wish to thank everyone for their patience during the implementation of our upgrades to the Weyburn Water Treatment Facility," said Smith. "I am always amazed and proud of the residents and business community in Weyburn and wish to thank you for your cooperation and assistance, it is greatly appreciated."
