The Weyburn Police Service attended to 82 calls for the week of Nov. 4-10. At about 1 a.m. police were called to a report of a hit-and-run in the 500 Block of McGillivray Drive on Nov. 4.

At about 1 a.m. police were called to a report of a hit-and-run in the 500 Block of McGillivray Drive on Nov. 4. Witnesses observed a smaller dark-colored truck hit a parked truck and then leave the scene. No suspects at this time and the investigation continues.
Later in the afternoon Weyburn Police Service received a tip that a male who was wanted had been seen in Weyburn. As a result of a short investigation a 28-year-old Weyburn male was located and arrested for outstanding break-and-enter warrants from Alberta. This individual was later remanded and was escorted by RCMP Provost to Alberta to face these charges.
Police responded to a break-and-enter in the 100 block of First Street NE after receiving calls from the public indicating a male was breaking in the front door on Nov. 9. Police located and arrested a 43-year-old male who was charged with break and enter; he will be appearing in court later this month.
In the evening, about 8 p.m. on Nov. 10, police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 1000 block of Park Avenue. Road conditions were a factor in the cause of this accident and damage was minimal.
During the reporting period police also received a number of calls for minor vehicle accidents. Motorists are reminded, with road conditions substantially reduced due to the recent arrival of winter, extra caution while driving is recommended.
At approximately 4:50 p.m. on Nov. 12, emergency services attended to single-vehicle snowmobile accident. The accident occurred on the outskirts on the east side of Weyburn. The 39-year-old man driving hit a drainage ditch and was ejected from the snow machine. He was transported to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Police would like to remind snowmobile enthusiasts that it is illegal to ride in the city limits and use extreme caution as objects in your path can be covered with fresh snow and difficult to see. Always drive at a safe speed considering all of the conditions you are driving in.
Later that morning at about 2 a.m., police were called to a fight at a downtown bar. Police separated two individuals who were having a disagreement and escorted them out of the establishment.
At 3 a.m., police were called to the Mac's confectionary where an intoxicated patron was causing a disturbance. A male in his 20's was arrested and charged for being intoxicated in a public place and lodged in cells until he was sober.
At 5 a.m., a report of a stolen truck was received, which had been stolen from the 1000 block of Park Avenue. A suspect has been identified and the investigation continues.
Later that evening at about 7:30 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 200 block of 11th Street. The accident was a result of one vehicle losing control due to the icy road conditions and colliding with the other.
Although extensive damage there were no injuries.
A short time later police responded to a mischief/arson complaint in the 700 block of Coteau Avenue when a truck was reported to be on fire. The fire was extinguished with minor damage. This investigation is ongoing.
Police received a report of a mischief which had occurred sometime overnight on Nov. 5-6. The complainant's vehicle had been parked in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue N., and during the night someone had broken the driver's window of the vehicle. No suspects at this time.
Police and fire responded to the SE area of the city on Nov. 7 after receiving reports of a male going house-to-house telling the occupants to get out as there was a radiation leak in the area. The report of radiation leak turned out to be false and a 28-year-old male was later interviewed in regard to this incident.
The investigation did not result in charges.
Police are investigating a mischief which occurred near Railway Avenue and Government Road on Nov. 8. A vehicle which had been parked in a nearby lot was keyed, damaging the hood of the vehicle. No suspects at this time.
Police responded to Mac's after receiving a number of calls of a female causing a disturbance and acting irrationally and throwing items around in the store on Nov. 10. Police attended and arrested a 26-year-old female and charged her for being intoxicated in public. She was lodged in cells until sober.
Police later received a report of a person failing to report an accident the same day. The complainant advised that a parked semi was hit by a dark-coloured Jeep Cherokee being driven by a younger white male. Although this individual did originally stop he did not supply his name or information. The investigation is ongoing.
