The Southeast Regional College is looking for feedback from residents of southeast Saskatchewan. An online survey, appropriately named "www.SoutheastSurvey.ca" was launched on June 21 with the purpose of gathering information on what the general public knows or perceives about the College and its Energy Training Institute.

Marketing Coordinator for the College, Dave Harazny, explained that the timing of this survey is very appropriate as the College continues to evolve as a training institution.

"Over the past number of years, our College has seen some significant growth in providing training to the energy sector," said Harazny. "We've also partnered with a number of First Nations in the southeast to expand our on-reserve programs, and we've been very successfully delivering training outside our region in other parts of Saskatchewan, not to mention a program that was recently completed in Cold Lake, Alberta. It's because of this evolution that we must ensure that our College is positioned to take on the next 35 years of its legacy, and that includes gaining feedback from the people we serve."

As the survey campaign reaches the midway point, response has been very promising.

"We are very pleased with the number of respondents and the feedback to this point," stated Harazny, "The online survey has been a great mode of communication because it has unlimited reach, is very cost-effective, and the Internet is our way of life these days."

The College also used this opportunity to launch a Facebook page to promote their survey, which has helped spread the word and will be utilized more by staff and students in the near future. "Social Media is an incredible marketing tool and we're excited to start using Facebook to get in touch with current and potential learners," added Harazny.

The survey will be online until August 18. As an incentive, the survey is short and the College is awarding one lucky survey respondent with an Ipad2.

"The survey is confidential and can be anonymous if you choose," said Harazny. "I'd like to encourage as many people as possible to take the survey. This type of feedback is extremely valuable and will help move forward as a College and an educational community."
