ESTEVAN - Estevan is looking for a new fire chief.

Dale Feser, who has held the job since December 2015, has resigned from the role, effective immediately. The City of Estevan made the announcement in a news release Wednesday morning.

No reason for Feser's departure was immediately announced.

"The City of Estevan wishes Dale all the best in his future endeavours, and thanks him for his 12 years of service," the city said in a news release.

Prior to becoming the city's fire chief, Feser spent several years as the deputy chief. He had also been a paid, on-call firefighter for a number of years before becoming deputy chief.

No decisions have been made regarding a replacement, but the city said the fire department will remain fully operational to meet the needs of the community. Rick Davies, who has been the deputy chief since 2017, is now the acting chief.
