Drug bust sees three charged for trafficking cocaine

A seven-month long police investigation has led to three arrests, including one Weyburn resident.

The Weyburn Organized Crime Unit and CFSEUSaskatchewan (Regina office) arrested and charged three individuals, one Weyburn resident and two Reginaresidents,on June 22 in Regina during a cocaine transaction.

The individuals were charged with Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine, Trafficking in Cocaine, andPossession of the Proceeds of Crime. The Weyburn Residentis also facing an additional four charges of Trafficking in Cocaine and four additional charges of Possession of Proceeds of Crime.In total there are 34charges, as well as a number of property seizures.

Although the offences were committed in two jurisdictions, Weyburn and Regina, the investigation focused on cocaine trafficking in the Weyburn area.This has been a seven-month long Joint Forces Investigation that also included RCMP Surveillance and Technical Units.

The Weyburn Organized Crime Unit is comprised of an investigator from the Weyburn Police Service and the RCMP. CFSEU (Regina) consists of members from the Regina Police Service and the RCMP.

Law enforcement across the province remains committed to carry outactive enforcement and those convicted of offences face periods of incarceration. CFSEU is a special enforcement unit funded by the Province of Saskatchewan dedicated to detecting, disrupting and dismantling organized criminal activity in Saskatchewan Communities.
