Drunk driver hospitalizes four

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of June 27 to July 3: *On July 2, at about 11:10 p.m., theWeyburn Police,Weyburn EMS andWeyburn Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision on First Avenue NE and Fourth Street.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of June 27 to July 3:

*On July 2, at about 11:10 p.m., theWeyburn Police,Weyburn EMS andWeyburn Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision on First Avenue NE and Fourth Street.Four people were taken to theWeyburn General Hospital where two were transferred to Regina.All have since been released.

A 32-year-old female from Regina has been arrested and is facing charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm, driving while suspended, driving with undue care and attention.The collision is still under investigation and the accused could be facing more charges.

The accused will be making her first court appearance July 19 in Weyburn.

*On July 1, police received numerous complaints of individuals setting off fireworks. There is a City bylaw prohibiting the use of fireworks within the city at any time.

*On June 30, police were called to a report of an early morning hit and run vehicle collision in the 500 block of Confederation Drive in which the driver fled on foot. The driver is described as a Caucasian male with curly brown hair. He was wearing grey shorts and was barefoot at the time. Anyone with information on this or any other crime is asked to contact theWeyburn Police or Crime Stoppers.

*Police received a complaint fromWeyburn Mental Health that a patient had escaped by jumping through a window. The patient was located about two hours later and was returned to the centre without incident.

At no time was the general public in danger, contended police.

*Police assisted theSherriff's Office in executing an eviction notice.

*On June 29, police received two unrelated calls regarding animals having been left in vehicles in the hot outdoor temperature. Both matters were quickly resolved.

Police wish to remind pet owners of the dangers involved with leaving a pet in a vehicle during the hot summer days. Temperatures can easily reach over 140 degreesFahrenheit inside a vehicle. Even if water has been left in a vehicle, animals are not able to cool themselves properly.

If the circumstances dictate, a person may be charged under the Criminal Code for such actions.

*Police received a report of a vehicle/pedestrian collision resulting in minor injuries to the pedestrian. Investigation into this matter continues.

*On June 28, police investigated a break and enter involving a local business. This matter is still underinvestigation and is related to an incident on June 27.

*Police investigated a report of a vehicle having been stolen from the 700 Block of Fifth Street NE. This matter is still under investigation.

*Police charged a 17-year-old female with theft under $5,000 regarding an incident at a local business.

*On June 27, police investigated a break, enter and theft involving a local business. The matter is still under investigation.

*Police were called to a complaint of an 11-year-old male exhibiting assaultivebehaviour at school.Due to the age of the youth involved no criminal action could be taken. The matter has been referred to the Ministry of Social Services for action.

*During this reporting period theWeyburn Police Service dealt with 114 complaints.
