This September, conservation champions across Saskatchewan have a chance to win big while celebrating Ducks Unlimited Canada's (DUC) 75th anniversary.
The DUC Conservation Champions Lottery is a new and innovative way to raise funds for wetland conservation. The lottery features many outstanding prizes, including a $75,000 cash Grand Prize, a $5,000 cash Early Bird prize, and over 90 additional prizes. The proceeds will stay in Saskatchewan to help protect and conserve the marshes and ponds throughout the province.
"I'm proud to have been involved with DUC for years," says Bob Poley, Saskatchewan Development Manager for Ducks Unlimited Canada. "I've worked with volunteers and landowners on amazing projects to restore and conserve local wetlands that are critical to the health of our communities. The DUC Conservation Champions lottery is a fun and easy way you can help support wetland conservation initiatives across the province while celebrating our 75th anniversary and trying your luck at over 90 prizes."
Wetlands are more than just marshes and ponds. They help to clean our drinking water, our lakes and our rivers. They also deliver amazing outdoor spaces to explore, and give all kinds of wildlife a place to call home. But despite these benefits, 28 acres (or 14 football fields) of wetlands are lost every day in Saskatchewan. The DUC Conservation Champions Lottery is a way to help stop this loss.
In total, only 9,000 tickets will be sold. The Early Bird Draw will take place on November 14, 2013, followed by all regular draws on December 3. In addition, anyone who purchases a DUC Conservation Champions Lottery ticket becomes eligible to buy 50/50 raffle tickets. Lottery License numbers LR13-0039 and LR13-0038.
