The RM and school board elections took place across Saskatchewan on October 26. In many RMs and towns in the Assiniboia area, polls were abandoned and councillors, mayors and reeves were elected by acclamation.
The Town of Assiniboia had an abandonment of poll for mayor and councillors. Bob Himbeault was acclaimed as mayor, and the councillors by acclamation were Patricia Batty, Renaud Bissonnette, Brian Embury, Glen Hall, Mike Krauss and Chuck Rust.
In the Town of Mossbank all the offices were elected by acclamation. Gregg Nagel was elected mayor, and Brian Archer, Jeremy Costley, David Gibson, Kristi Green, Aubrey Tollefson and Brett Tollefson were elected councillors.
In the Town of Gravelbourg Dan Lamarre was elected mayor, and Jackie Berg, Toos Giese-Stefiuk, Michel Vezina, Lucien Sicotte, Travis Rushinko and Edward Lagasse were elected councillors.
In the Town of Willow Bunch Wayne Joyal was elected mayor, and the councillors were Giselle Fafard, Wanda Newans, Murray Otterson and Roger Philippon.
The RM of Poplar Valley also were re-elected by acclamation their reeve Narin Nielsen and councillors Laurel Ingram, Richard Kimball and Brad Christopherson.
In the RM of Bengough, Eugene Hoffart was re-elected the reeve by acclamation, Lee Merrien and David Warren were re-elected councillors by acclamation. Karl Nergard and Kelly Shaver were elected as Division 1 Councillors.
The RM of Willow Bunch elected Mike Cayer was councillor. In the RM of Mankota, the three councillors were acclaimed, Calvin Gavelin and James Frampton, who are both new, and Daryl Eklund, who was re-elected.
In the RM of Key West, the entire slate of candidates were elected by acclamation. Zane McKerricher was elected reeve, Stuart Leonard and Brian Viergutz were re-elected as councillors, and Brian Knudsen was newly-elected as councillor.
The RM of Excel elected Arnold Montgomery as reeve, Rudy Smith was elected as councillor for Division 3, Braden Paradon and Jason Struble were acclaimed as councillors for Division 1 and 5.
The RM of the Lake of the Rivers councillors were elected by acclamation. Norman Nordgulen was elected reeve, Chris Bates, Trenton Karst and Cole Payant were all re-elected.
In the RM of Stonehenge, the candidates were acclaimed. Chris Sinclair was elected reeve, Brady Heatcoat was newly-elected councillor for Division 1 and Vince Topola and Robert Smith were re-elected councillors.
In the RM of Lake Johnston, all were elected by acclamation. Mikel Costley is elected as councillor for Division 4, Daci Petersen was elected as councillor for Division 1, and Derek Howe was elected as councillor for Division 3.
In the RM of Sutton, Aaron Krauss was elected councillor by acclamation. In the RM of Gravelbourg, Guy Lorrain was newly-elected as reeve, Richard Aussant and Paul Beaudoin were newly-elected councillors.
The Prairie South School Board election was also held. Elected by acclamation were Robert Bachmann for subdivision No. 2, Giselle Wilson for subdivision No. 4, and Shawn Davidson for subdivision No. 5. Darcy Pryor was elected to subdivision No. 1, Al Kessler was elected to subdivision No. 3, Mary Jukes, Tim McLeod, Jan Radwanski, Brian Swanson and Lew Young were elected to subdivision No. 6. The new board will be sworn in and held its first meeting on November 8.
