Estevan police apprehend impaired driver, receive calls about vehicles being entered

ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service received 78 calls for service from Friday afternoon until Monday evening.

Police received a report of an assault in the downtown area. The matter is still under investigation at this time.

Officers attended to a complaint of a female unlawfully in a dwelling. The female was escorted from the property and no further involvement was needed.

As a result of a complaint about an intoxicated woman, members arrested a 30-year-old woman on Bannatyne Road. She was lodged in cells until sober. Later in the evening, members located a 61-year-old woman in the McDonald Road area after receiving calls of an intoxicated female. She was assessed by medical staff and lodged in cells until sober.

The Estevan Police Combined Traffic Services located a single-vehicle incident on the Bienfait grid, and as a result, an Estevan male is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle. His vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence suspended.

The EPS received multiple complaints of unknown person(s) entering vehicles throughout the city. Officers remind the public to remove all valuables from their vehicles and to ensure they lock the doors to their vehicles.

Police attended to a vacant rental property as there was a report of an individual inside. The individual was located and had found it insecure. The individual vacated the unit and the owner secured it.
