Estevan police make an arrest for fraud and handle other calls

Police have been busy in the past few days.

The EPS was kept busy on the weekend.

ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service had a busy weekend with 41 occurrences.

Following an investigation that was reported on Sept. 15, a 45 year old woman from Estevan was charged with one count of fraud. She was released with a court date later in November.

A report of a suspicious male was reported in the northeast area. Members attended and located the male in question and it was determined that he was in the area as he was trying to find access for WiFi.

A report of harassing communications was reported. Police are still conducting their investigation.

A report of a break and enter came in from the Centennial area of Estevan. Members attended and the matter remains under investigation.

Police received a driving complaint that started in the Hillcrest area. Members were able to speak with all parties involved and were able to mediate by way of warning both parties of their actions.

Officers responded to the house fire in the Hillside area. As was stated before, occupants were able to vacate the residence without injuries.

The EPS attended to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a residential area. Members attended and spoke with the occupants of the vehicle, and it was determined that they were there for a lawful reason. Further patrols were conducted to confirm their reason for being in the area.

While out on patrol, members came across what appeared to be a domestic dispute. Both parties were spoken to and members were able to mediate the situation.

Police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle in the Hillside area. The matter remains under investigation.

Officers were called to a report of a collision in the hospital parking lot. The incident is also under investigation.
