Estevan police make arrests for weapons infractions and assaults in separate incidents

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service has announced details on a couple of incidents that occurred last week. 

Police were called to apprehend a man in the 1300-block of Nicholson Road on Wednesday. He was arrested and found to be in possession of a concealed weapon. Once he was placed in the backseat of the police vehicle, he kicked out the rear passenger window. 

Several charges are pending against the 26-year-old from Estevan, including possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, possession of a concealed weapon, assault on a police officer and mischief under $5,000.

The weapons were seized and the investigation continues.

Also that day, police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 600-block of Third Street. A 37-year-old woman was arrested and lodged in cells. She is facing multiple charges, including assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace, and mischief under $5,000.

She was released on conditions. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and further charges are pending.

The incidents are not connected.
