Two Estevan residents are dead after a single vehicle rollover last night near Chaplin.

Two Estevan residents are dead after a single vehicle rollover last night near Chaplin.

According to information from the Morse RCMP Detachment, a westbound 2004 Ford pickup truck with five people inside rolled in the center meridian of the Trans Canada Highway at approximately 9 p.m.

Four of the five occupants of the vehicle were ejected from the truck. RCMP say the three deceased may not have been wearing their seat belts.

A 29-year-old male and 19-year-old female, both from Estevan, as well as a 36-year-old male from Westlock, Alberta were reported dead at the scene.

A 17-year-old male from Texas and 21-year-old female from Herbert were injured in the crash and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Road conditions are not believed to have been a factor in the rollover. RCMP members were at the scene for much of the night investigating the crash with the help of a collision re-constructionist. Traffic was re-routed from the scene for nine hours but the Trans-Canada is now open to traffic again.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
