After sweeping the awards home at the Redvers Music Festival Sunday afternoon, Michele Amy's fiddle students put on a lovely evening concert.

The night featured fiddlers of all ages from Arcola, Antler, Bellegarde, Carlyle, Estevan, Lampman, Langbank, Osage, Stoughton and Wawota.

The opening act was very captivating as all of the students played a unique version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The song kicked off with the youngest children playing their instruments and eventually led to the teens playing while the little ones sang their hearts out.

The youngsters then played several harmonized group numbers.

The audience most enjoyed the Fiddle Circus, which was the fun side of the program. It included the tiniest fiddles, played by two of the tinier students themselves, a hoola hooping fiddler, fiddlers held upside down while playing and much more.

Guest musicians included Paul Dacier accompanying on piano, and of course Fred Easton, Michele's original teacher.

"Fiddle is not a dying art," said Michele Amy, fiddle teacher. "The town is bringing it back."

The talented students ended the program in fine style, with a finale number that impressed. They all played the Cajun Two Step while doing a choreographed dance.

All the proceeds from the show were donated to the KLKP bursary fund. This bursary, as well as many others, are available by application to assist families and young musicians in attending the Kenosee Kitchen Party or the Kenosee Kids Kitchen Party.

These camps are designed to improve the musician's talents at an extremely quick pace, while being instructed by some of Canada's top musicians and educators. And the camps aren't all work, campers will also enjoy making friends and having great fun.
