Update from City of Estevan Emergency Measures Office:

The City of Estevan has been advised by the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority to prepare for further potential flooding because increased releases of water from Rafferty Dam and the Boundary Dam because of the heavy rainfall yesterday in the Weyburn , Radville and surrounding areas.

The Estevan Emergency Measures Committee has declared a State of Emergency and is issuing an EVACUATION ALERT FOR WILLOW PARK GREENS TRAILER PARK. This is an alert at this time; however, may change to an Evacuation Order later today.

The Estevan Police Service and the Estevan Fire and Rescue Service will be attending Willow Park Greens Trailer Park and advising residents of the alert and providing instructions to follow in the event of an evacuation order.

Any residents who require additional information are asked to call the Estevan EMO emergency line at 306 634 1855. Residents are asked to not call the Estevan Police Service for information because the increased calls are tying up the emergency lines.

In the event of an Evacuation Order both Police and Fire vehicles will attend Willow Park Greens Trailer Park and sound sirens to advise of the Evacuation Order.

Residents are asked prepare for an evacuation and to be ready to leave or make arrangements to leave. In the event of an Evacuation Order residents will be asked to report to the Multi-Purpose Room at the Souris Valley Leisure and Aquatic Center.

Updates will also be posted to the City of Estevan website at www.estevan.ca.

The committee will continue to be in touch with the public as we are notified of changes to this emergency.
