Full slate of activities offered in Weyburn for Family Day

A Family Fun Day will be offered in Weyburn on Monday, Feb. 19, which is also the start of the February break for all Weyburn area students.

WEYBURN – A Family Fun Day will be offered in Weyburn on Monday, Feb. 19, which is also the start of the February break for all Weyburn area students.

There will be toonie drop-in programming at the Credit Union Spark Centre from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus a wide variety of free activities offered throughout the day.

The drop-in programming will include the MNP Play Centre, indoor track, Mainil Field turf time and mini-gym, and the simulator room will be available at half-price during this time.

The Paw Patrol will visit the CU Spark Centre from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

A quiet corner colouring event will be offered at the Weyburn Art Gallery from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and a drop-in craft activity will be provided in the multi-purpose room from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Also in the multi-purpose room will be face-painting from 1 to 3 p.m.

For those who are sports-minded, Weyburn Lacrosse will provide an opportunity to try out lacrosse from 1-2 p.m. at Mainil Field in the Spark Centre, and Weyburn Minor Ball will host a “try-softball” demo from 2-3 p.m. in the same location.

Public swimming will be available at the Weyburn Leisure Centre, and public skating will be available at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena, both from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The Weyburn Oilwomen will be on hand to provide free hot chocolate to skaters.

A collaborative community mural will be available for painting for those 18 and over, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Weyburn Art Gallery.

While in the art gallery, visitors should check out the James Weir People's Choice exhibition, with voting open until March 17.
