The Easter Break California Trip is coming up soon. Miss Down suggests students start packing!

Parents are reminded that we need help to assemble the pizzas on Saturday, March 10 from 9am to 1pm at GFK School. Everyone is welcome! Just a reminder to all sellers: please come by the school between 12 and 1 to pick up the pizzas you sold so that you can deliver them ASAP. This is for the Literacy Fundraiser. Our last pizza making day turned out to be a lot of fun for the School Community Council members, staff, and parents who attended. So please make plans to help us out on March 10!

Junior and Rookie Badminton teams are in the midst of their season. Rookie and Junior practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Playoffs are set for May 1st and May 5th.

The Student Council is providing snacks for advisory groups once a week.

There is a Community School Council Meeting on Wednesday, March 14th, at 7:00pm at GFK School.

Local businesses can have a business-card size advertisement placed in the yearbook for $20 or they can sponsor a photo page for $30. Half-page and full-page advertisements are also available. If you are interested in placing an ad in the GFK yearbook please contact Melissa Sweet for details. The 2010-2011 yearbooks are still available. The cost is now $20. The 2011-2012 yearbooks are $25. If you are pre-ordering during the month of March, your name will be entered to win a gift certificate from Life Touch for school pictures. Halle Doty was the winner of the gift certificate for last month.

If anyone has taken pictures of GFK students which might be of interest to the Yearbook Committee, please email them to Melissa Sweet at:

melissa.sweet@cornerstonesd.ca so the pictures can be included in the 2011-2012 yearbook. The 2010/2011 yearbooks will be available in mid-November.

Anyone who is interested in advertising on the school's virtual signs should contact Mr. Howe at the school.

There is no school on Monday, March 12th, 2012 (Staff Development Day).
