Interested students from G.F. Kells will be heading to Asessippi Ski Resort on Friday, February 15, 2013. Friday, January 25th, 2013, is the last day to get ski trip forms handed in for this trip. Students can choose to ski, snowboard, or tube. Don't miss out on an enjoyable and fun day at one of the best ski resorts on the prairies, Asessippi.
The Semester 1 Final Exams will be written from Wednesday, January 23rd, to Friday, January 25th, 2013, for students in Grades 10 to 12. Additional details to come. Semester 2 Report Cards will be going out the first week of February. Please look for them! There will be no school on Monday, January 28th, 2013, due to a teacher Professional Development Day. The first day of classes for Term 2 is Tuesday, January 29th.
Junior drama practices continue every Thursday after school from 3:30pm to 5:00pm from now until April. Senior drama practices are every Monday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
The Search Institute has identified the building blocks of healthy development that help young people grow up healthy, caring, and responsible. The Cougar Corner will list 2 of these 40 Developmental Assets each week for the next 20 weeks. One of these assets is "Equality and Social Justice." This involves young people placing high value on promoting equality. Another asset is "Integrity." This means the young person acts with conviction and stands up for his/her beliefs.
