Congratulations to Mr. Birch and his wife Christina on the birth of their baby boy, Hunter!

The junior curlers had a great season! We hosted and entered 3 teams in the Tim Horton's 14U Youth Spiel. The teams in this spiel included Lane Newell, Emmett Guider, Zach Romaniuk, and Terran Baker. This group of boys won the gold medal! Haylee Barta's rink of Ethan Anderson, Taylor Sargent, and Cody Hagel won the bronze medal. Lane Gosselin skipped for Brayden Hill, Emily Nelson, and Judah Wardrope. This young team won 2 and lost 2 in the spiel. This event got the athletes even more excited about their sport.

This past weekend, we entered 4 teams in Division Playoffs. Lane Newell, Emmett Guider, Zach Romaniuk, and Ethen Newell played in the boys' curling playoffs in Arcola. They curled great and were awarded 2nd place. We entered three teams in the mixed playoffs in Wawata. Mercedes Sackman skipped Lane Gosseslin, Emily Nelson, and Kelly Hume. Janelle Boutin skipped Brayden Hill, Makenna Morrision, and Judah Wardrope. Haylee Barta skipped Ethan Anderson, Taylor Sargent, and Cody Hagel. Congratulations to all the curlers! Everyone should be proud of how much they have improved this year. They will continue to practice until the end of February. This is a great group of students and Mrs. Rutten looks forward to coaching them again next year!
